The James M. Cox Foundation Awards $250,000 to The Warrior Alliance to support Veteran Service Program expansion

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, 02/03/2020 – The Warrior Alliance announced today a $250,000 grant from the James M. Cox Foundation. The grant will support The Warrior Alliance’s (TWA) veteran community integration program. The funds will help increase capacity for outreach, navigation and data analytics efforts over the next two years with a goal of serving 4,500 veterans by 2021.

For many veterans, trading in a military uniform for civilian clothes can be a long and overwhelming struggle, especially without a support system. The James M. Cox Foundation and The Warrior Alliance share a passion to improve and simplify this major life transition for our service members.

With more than 225,000 veterans in the Greater Atlanta area, TWA’s mission is to meet the need for a backbone organization connecting programs and resources available to veterans across the broader community.

“TWA is experiencing significant growth and demand for assistance from veterans across the state. The grant from the James M. Cox Foundation allows us to increase our veteran engagement, provide more resources to meet Warrior needs and deliver measurable outcomes,” said TWA President and Executive Director, Scott Johnson. “This investment will make a significant impact on the veteran community we serve and help to improve their overall quality of life.”

Through a unique collaboration model, TWA engages veterans via a high-touch, high-technology platform and coordinates their care via a seamless, integrated services network. The TWA model works to simplify, accelerate, and streamline the process for veterans seeking help in all areas relating to transitioning from military service.

TWA invites veterans and community leaders to support its mission through the following:
